More and more people are living in the districts of Rastatt. The number of inhabitants has been rising continuously for years. A quarter of Rastatt's population is now at home there. Förch, Niederbühl, Ottersdorf, Plittersdorf, Rauental and Wintersdorf account for two-fifths of the total urban settlement area.
From 2015 to 2017, the city of Rastatt developed village development concepts for all districts with the participation of the population. Building on this, the municipal council adopted so-called urban development concepts in 2022, which were accompanied by expert opinions. These form the basis for preserving and carefully developing the uniqueness of the villages.
