Renovation of the main street, design of a village center that can be experienced, a new daycare center and expansion of the school into an educational center - these are the focal points of the Rauental village development concept. In addition, the Vogelsand construction area is being developed in two phases.
Northern edge of the village
The planned expansion of the Rastatt-Nord freeway junction will bring an important change for Rauental: the connection of the main road to the B 462 will then be cut. As a result, the northern main road, which is currently heavily congested, will be renovated and traffic calmed by rearranging parking spaces and trees. This will also provide the opportunity to close gaps between buildings on the northern edge of the village.
Main Street
In the course of the renovation of Rauental's main street, the Old Town Hall Square and the Asparagus Fountain Square will also be redesigned similar to the Church Square and visually connected with each other by a uniform pavement. The main street will also be narrowed to a minimum. A follow-up use is to be found for the building of the former Faller bakery. A village store or a comparable offer would be desirable. It is also planned to create living space for senior citizens at Hauptstraße 50/52.
Education Center
The Rauental school is to be expanded into an educational center. This includes the planned new construction of the daycare center, which is to replace the kindergarten, which is in need of renovation and is now too small. The existing green structures are to be preserved as far as possible and the required distances from the adjacent cemetery are to be maintained. In addition, Federbachstrasse will be designated as a play street in the future.
