Conditions of participation for competitions

The City of Rastatt occasionally offers online competitions and prize draws. Participation in these competitions/raffles is subject to the following conditions of participation.

Organizer

The online competitions and prize draws are organized by the City of Rastatt, Marktplatz 1, 76437 Rastatt. If a cooperation partner of the City of Rastatt is a co-organizer, it will be explicitly named.

Participation requirements/raffle

Participation in the competition is free of charge and independent of the purchase of goods or services. Only participants who answer the competition or prize draw questions in full and have registered with all the required details in the relevant form will be considered for the prize draw.

All entries will be drawn at random. Only one prize is possible per participant. Cash payment or transferability of the prize to other persons is excluded. The winners will be notified by the City of Rastatt. If a winner does not confirm in text form (by letter, fax, e-mail) within 14 days of notification to the City of Rastatt, the entitlement to the prize will lapse and a replacement winner will be drawn using the same procedure. The winner will be expressly informed of this requirement again in the prize notification. The participant is responsible for the accuracy of the address provided.

Conditions of participation for Facebook and Instagram competitions

The start, end and subject of the prize draw are noted in the Facebook or Instagram post.

The end date is stated in the competition post or in the text of the respective medium (e.g. Facebook post). The competition ends at midnight on this end date.

The prize itself and the requirements for participation are listed in the competition. The winner will be determined shortly after the end of the competition. The prize will be drawn at random unless the competition post explicitly states that a jury decision will be made.

Information on the prize handover/shipping will follow after personal contact with the Facebook or Instagram page of the city of Rastatt.

The competition is not affiliated with Meta and is not supported by Meta. Please do not address questions and comments about the competition to Meta, but directly to the City of Rastatt via a private message on the Facebook or Instagram page of the City of Rastatt or to the email address provided.

Eligibility to participate

All persons aged 18 and over who are resident in Germany are eligible to participate. To participate in the competition/raffle, the participant must provide truthful personal data. Employees of the City of Rastatt, its affiliated companies and competition partners, including members of the aforementioned groups, are excluded from participation. The City of Rastatt is entitled to exclude individual persons from participation if there are justified reasons, e.g. violation of the conditions of participation, double participation, undue influence on the competition, manipulation, etc.. In such cases, prizes may also be subsequently withdrawn and reclaimed.

Changes to the rules of participation and termination of the competition

The City of Rastatt reserves the right to change the conditions of participation at any time. Furthermore, they reserve the right to terminate or interrupt the competition or prize draw at any time for good cause without prior notice. This applies in particular to reasons that would disrupt or prevent the competition or prize draw from proceeding as planned. If such a termination is caused by the behavior of a participant, the City of Rastatt is entitled to demand compensation from this person for any damages incurred.

Limitations of liability

The City of Rastatt shall only be liable for damages caused by it, its legal representatives or vicarious agents intentionally or through gross negligence or through the breach of essential obligations in the context of the competition/raffle (so-called cardinal obligations). Essential obligations are those whose fulfillment is necessary to achieve the objective of the competition/raffle. In these cases, liability is limited to the foreseeable, typically occurring damage. The liability of the City of Rastatt for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health remains unaffected.

Data protection

All personal data of the participant will be stored and used exclusively for the purpose of carrying out and processing the competition/raffle. Participants are free to withdraw their participation in the competition/raffle at any time. The revocation must be sent to: City of Rastatt, Marktplatz 1, 76437 Rastatt or to pressestelle@rastatt.de

Final provisions

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply.

Should individual provisions of the conditions of participation be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining conditions of participation.

Legal recourse is excluded for the competitions and prize draws.
