Fast Internet, the latest presentation media in classrooms and subject areas, and tablets and notebooks: The city of Rastatt is driving digitization at Rastatt's schools as part of the Digital Pact for Schools funded by the federal and state governments. Until the end of 2024, the city can benefit from the digital pact with funding of around 1.75 million euros for public schools, thereby sustainably improving digital skills at schools. To be able to access the funding, the schools had to independently develop and submit a so-called media development plan.
All schools are now equipped with fast Internet and WLAN. While the initial focus after the outbreak of the Corona pandemic in 2020 was on procuring mobile devices for students, the focus in 2023 and 2024 will be on equipping classrooms with media technology, such as beamers, interactive digital boards, displays, loudspeakers and media controls.
