The Rastatt volunteer fire department is one of the oldest in Germany. Volunteer comrades have been ensuring safety in Rastatt around the clock since 1846. The emergency services not only extinguish fires and rescue people and animals from dangerous situations, they also provide technical support to rescue teams in the event of serious accidents. Civil protection also includes the so-called fire safety watch, which is required at events.
The Rastatt Volunteer Fire Department consists of two volunteer departments in the city center and five volunteer departments in the districts, as well as a full-time department. There is also an old-age and a youth department in the city center and in the districts. Every year, an average of 234 firefighters are called out on around 500 missions to rescue, extinguish, recover or protect people, animals and property.
Note: In an emergency, please contact the Central Baden Integrated Control Center directly via the emergency number 112.
