Care for school children

Outside of regular school hours, the city of Rastatt offers various childcare services at its schools, such as the so-called reliable elementary school with flexible afternoon care, after-school care or vacation care. The services vary depending on the school. Registrations can be made via the respective school secretariat or the city of Rastatt, schools customer service department. The after-school care is offered by the Protestant parish of Rastatt.

Supervision as part of the reliable elementary school

The childcare takes place during school hours. The City of Rastatt is responsible for the service. The fee-based service is available at the following schools:

  • Hansjakob School:
    • Supervision from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. before and after school
  • Hans-Thoma-School:
    • Supervision from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. before and after school
  • Carl Schurz School:
    • Supervision from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. before and after school
  • Gustav Heinemann School:
    • Supervision from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. before and after school
  • Niederbühl elementary school:
    • Supervision from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. before and after school
  • Ottersdorf elementary school:
    • Supervision from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. before and after school
  • Plittersdorf elementary school:
    • Supervision from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. before and after school
  • Rauental elementary school:
    • Supervision from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. before and after school

    • Supervision from 7.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. before and after school
  • Rauental elementary school:
    • Supervision from 7.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. before and after school

After-school care

Supervision takes place before and after school. The provider of the service is the Protestant parish of Rastatt. The after-school care center offers full-day care for a fee from 6.30 am to 4.30 pm. It is also possible to pay for morning care from 6.30 am to 2 pm. Lunch can also be booked for a fee.

All-day elementary school

The expansion of all-day primary school provision is one of the most important tasks in Rastatt over the next few years. Three schools in Rastatt currently offer all-day primary schooling with lunch:

  • Gustav Heinemann School:
    • voluntary all-day school in elementary school and compulsory all-day school in community schools
  • Hans-Thoma-School:
    • voluntary all-day school
  • Karlschule:
    • voluntary all-day school in elementary school and compulsory all-day school in community schools
  • Tulla-Gymnasium:
    • voluntary all-day school

Vacation care

Vacation care is open to all children from all-day elementary school and reliable elementary school during the school vacations, provided there are at least seven binding registrations per school.
