Passport Delivery delays for passports Have you chosen a destination and booked a trip abroad? Then you should quickly check the homepage of the Federal Foreign Office(www.auswaertiges-amt.de) to find out which documents you need to enter the country. Do you need a passport for your trip? Then we recommend that you apply early, as the production and delivery time at Bundesdruckerei can currently be up to eight weeks. If you need a passport more quickly, you can apply for it using the express procedure. This incurs higher costs, but is usually ready for collection within five working days. If this is not sufficient, you have the option of having a temporary passport issued. However, this is only valid for one year, but can be issued and handed over to you immediately.
You can easily enter your biometric data, i.e. biometric passport photos, fingerprints and the signature for all ID documents, yourself at the self-service terminal in the Citizens' Office.
You can apply for an extract from the Central Trade Register at the Citizens' Office and, under certain conditions, also directly at the Federal Office of Justice.
