Environmental education and nature education have been a top priority for the town of Rastatt since 1982. The founding of the Ökostation was a decisive factor in this. A natural garden area in the middle of the town and at the same time an extracurricular place of learning for nurseries, kindergartens and schools.
Every year, two teenagers and young adults can get involved in nature and environmental education and environmental protection as part of the City of Rastatt's Voluntary Ecological Year.
In addition, the city of Rastatt promotes original encounters with nature as the sponsor of the annual "Rendezvous with Nature" program. Together with committed associations, institutions and nature experts, numerous events draw attention to the region's natural treasures.
