The Murgpark including playground is located in the center of Rastatt between the BadnerHalle event hall and the historic Pagoda Castle complex and between the Murg and the city center. During the summer months, the grounds of the roughly one-hectare park are regularly transformed into a stage for artists, for example at the MurgChillOut concert series organized by the youth development department. Or every two years at the large street theater festival tête-à-tête.
The Murg up for grabs
The proximity to the Murg is what gives the park its character. From here, you can quickly reach the adjacent Murg dam and have a wonderful view of the renaturalized Murg. From the Murg dam, children can "slide" directly into the playground and play under large shady trees.
Over the next few years, Murgpark will be redesigned. With the planned developments on the adjacent Franz Brewery site, there will be new paths through the park for pedestrians and cyclists. The perimeter of the park will also be redesigned. In the future, the park will be primarily designed to be inclusive and offer many opportunities for outdoor sports.
