Just a few minutes' walk from the city center is Rastatt's Stadtpark on the western edge of town. Whether families, young people, children or senior citizens: the nine-hectare city park has something to offer for everyone. In the middle of the park is a lake. It is framed by benches for resting and walking paths.
Space to play and explore
Children and young people also get their money's worth in the city park. In addition to a large playground and a nature playground for the smaller ones, the adjacent skate park is a popular meeting place for youngsters. Those interested in history will also find what they are looking for in the Stadtpark. The Kehler Gate, one of the few preserved buildings of the Rastatt Federal Fortress (1842 to 1890), is located at the edge of the city park. In addition, the western edge of the park still reproduces the course of the former federal fort ress.
City park becomes part of the state horticultural show
The city park will continue to play an important role in Rastatt's local recreation concept in the future. When the State Horticultural Show 2036 is hosted in Rastatt, the city park will be integrated into the State Horticultural Show grounds and redesigned.
