With Martin Schursch, the city of Rastatt has had a climate protection manager for the first time since 2019. One of his tasks is to implement the climate protection goals of the state, federal government and EU in Rastatt. The EU wants to become climate-neutral by 2050, Germany is to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 65 percent by 2030 compared to 1990, and Rastatt wants to be climate-neutral by 2035. These are major goals that must also be implemented in Rastatt.
Martin Schursch mobilizes local actors and partners to work together to advance climate protection. Above all, however, citizens are also called upon. They should actively participate and be involved in the climate protection process through participatory actions and information events. The climate protection manager is also available to answer questions about energy efficiency.
