Contributing ideas, having a say and helping to shape things. In Rastatt, the voice of youth is not only heard, it also carries weight. Since 2017, Rastatt has had a youth delegation whose work is governed by the guideline for youth participation. The youth delegation advises the city and the municipal council on topics relevant to young people, organizes its own events and, as the mouthpiece of Rastatt's young people, brings the wishes and concerns of their peers into the city's politics.
Join in? Anytime!
Interested young people between the ages of 14 and 20 who live in Rastatt and want to stand up for the interests of Rastatt's youth can participate.
The youth delegation is re-established annually in October or November.
Meetings are held regularly once a month in plenary sessions, while the various project and working groups, for example on the topic of combi-pool, youth café or LGBTQ+, meet as needed.
Those who wish to join can do so at any time. Joining the youth delegation is also possible in the current working year.
The Rastatt Youth Summit
At the end of each school year, the youth delegation organizes the Rastatt Youth Summit, to which all Rastatt residents aged 14 to 21 are invited.
At the youth summit, the youth delegation presents the results of its work, invites discussion and collects new topics that are important to young people in Rastatt. The discussion results are then incorporated into the further work of the youth delegation.
