Pagoda Castle - Historical Jewel in the Heart of Rastatt

The Pagoda Castle complex is the oldest green space in the baroque city and is located in the center of Rastatt. It impresses with its lush flowerbed and its historical significance. For example, the Pagoda Castle, which dates back to the Baroque period and is now used for art exhibitions or civil weddings, and the Einsiedeln Chapel can be found here. It was built at the request of Margravine Franziska Sibylla Augusta in 1715. The highest building in the complex is the water tower, which was put into operation at the beginning of the 20th century. The flower splendor in the complex, which changes several times a year, also attracts visitors and insects alike.

The green space around the Pagoda Castle is designed as an open and inviting park. Historic design features such as the axial wayside cross and the historic fountain are still preserved. Benches also invite visitors to linger.

The path from Murgpark to the Pagoda Castle complex leads up an elaborately restored flight of steps and terraces. The terrace is a special eye-catcher in the summer months when the vines bear ripe fruit.
