Over 51,000 people from more than 125 countries live in Rastatt. The city wants to bring this diversity to life - with the "Diversity along the Murg" project. The aim is to create five stations along the Murg river that invite all Rastatt residents to linger and meet. Another aim was to develop a kind of written understanding that shows how good coexistence can succeed in Rastatt.
After-work walk, dialog rounds and online survey
The project kicked off with an after-work walk along the Murg river as part of the Intercultural Weeks in September 2023.
To find out what is important to citizens for good coexistence, the city also held eight dialog rounds in November 2023. Here, the Integration and Community Work customer department collected shared values and ideas from the participants. The Rastatt residents' ideas included a bookcase with books from all over the world and the desire for a work of art to reflect the diversity in Rastatt.
Rastatt residents were also able to take part online and take part in a survey on how to live well together, what is involved and what is important to them.
Community understanding of good coexistence
You are part of it! Together we are Rastatt. Our understanding of living together.
The Integration and Community Work customer service department has compiled the suggestions from the population on the understanding of good coexistence in Rastatt and presented and discussed the first draft to the "Living together in Rastatt" network.
