Seniorenhilfe Rastatt e.V. has been committed to helping senior citizens in Rastatt since 1948. Over the years, the charity has developed into a beneficial tradition for many people in the town. The volunteers in the "Visiting Services" and "Open Door" departments visit and support older people and offer various community activities
Being old and needy often results in social isolation. Against the backdrop of demographic developments, more and more older people are affected. The "Open Door" department would like to counteract this with its social activities, such as the singing and dancing afternoon or the weekly games afternoon. All older citizens are cordially invited to attend the Open Door activities.
The volunteers in the "Visiting Services" department visit elderly people at home all year round. They take the time to talk to them, mediate in emergencies, are a point of contact for problems and, in individual cases, also offer practical help with shopping and visits to the authorities. They also help to organize many of the town's senior citizens' events, including the Christmas and carnival parties, the senior citizens' afternoon and the meeting day for people with disabilities. Every year, needy people in Rastatt are financially supported through individual assistance and the Christmas gift. This community work can only be continued thanks to the great willingness to help and donate.
