Well-stocked with exciting books, the open bookcase by the Murg river near the closing bridge invites you to browse and linger. The idea was born as part of the "Diversity along the Murg" project. Citizens expressed their desire for an open bookcase during the dialogue rounds organized by the Integration and Community Work customer service department. The bookcase is the first station to be created as part of the "Diversity along the Murg" project funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland.
How does the open bookcase work?
To ensure that there are enough exciting books in the bookcase, the people of Rastatt are asked to put new reading material in the cupboard. You can also take new books out of the cupboard at any time. A small seating area invites you to browse on site with a view of the Murg. The aim of the project is also to get into conversation with others about the books.
This bookcase is the sixth in the city area, the others are located in Dörfel, Beinle, Rossi Haus, Zay and Siedlung (Münchfeld).
Actions
The space around the bookcase should not only be used for browsing and exchanging ideas, but also for various activities. For example, a reading, music or small performances. And here, too, the city would like to involve citizens.
