Rastatt Residential Palace
For over 300 years, Rastatt Palace, also known as the "Baden Versailles", has been the magnificent center of the city. It is considered one of the most beautiful baroque palaces in Germany. Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm and Margravine Sibylla Augusta were inspired by the architecture of Versailles Palace when building the three-winged palace and palace gardens at the beginning of the 18th century. The aristocratic palaces in Vienna also served as a model. Today, the palace is a popular excursion destination that lends Rastatt its baroque charm.
