Rastatt Residence Palace
For more than 300 years, Rastatt Castle, also called the "Baden Versailles", has been the magnificent center of the city. It is considered one of the most beautiful baroque castles in Germany. When building the three-winged palace and the palace garden at the beginning of the 18th century, Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm and Margravine Sibylla Augusta took their cue from the architecture of Versailles Palace. The aristocratic palaces in Vienna also served as a model. Today, the palace is a popular destination for excursions, giving Rastatt its baroque charm.
