Important questions and answers about borrowing, renewing and returning media
How can I keep an eye on the return date?
When you borrow items, you will receive a printout of your account showing the latest return date. You can view the current status of all borrowed media at any time via the account function of our online catalog "My account".
If you enter your e-mail address in the city library, you will receive a free reminder by e-mail a few days before the loan period expires. If you would like to use this service, you can contact the Rastatt City Library team directly.
Can I keep media for longer?
You can renew all media twice free of charge, provided they are not reserved. The only exception: Kamishibai picture cards cannot be extended.
You can renew your media independently online in the media catalog via the account function "My account" within the loan period or by telephone: 07222 972-8504.
What can I do if the desired medium is on loan?
Search for the desired title in the media catalog. In the short title list you will find the option "reserve" for borrowed titles. Please enter your library card number and your password.
When the title has arrived, you will be notified by e-mail or in writing. This service costs 1 euro per title.
Can I request media for a new acquisition?
You can suggest a title to the city library for a new acquisition. Simply fill in the form for a media request online or at the city library.
Proposed titles should not be older than two years and should not cost more than 30 euros. They must also have already been published. The city library will check all suggestions and inform you promptly whether the medium will be purchased.
